Sr. Systems Engineer

Role Overview: Reporting to Enterprise Infrastructure Leadership, the Sr. Systems Engineer will design, install, secure, and optimize enterprise IT infrastructure systems and related components to achieve high performance, availability, and competitive business services. This role also has a focus on SaaS and cloud technologies and services.

  • Provide operational support for cloud technologies and enterprise systems.
  • Collaborate with teams on IT standards, controls, engineering, and daily operations.
  • Troubleshoot and manage backup and recovery activities.
  • Oversee storage, monitoring, and alerting functions.
  • Perform capacity planning and provide strategic input, designs, and governance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, review, and operational management of Azure and AWS solutions, including capacity planning.
  • Provide technical leadership on infrastructure projects across multiple disciplines and environments.
  • Evaluate, design, and implement new cloud products and technologies to meet business requirements.
  • Perform daily production support, on-call rotations, and technical leadership for new technology solutions.
  • Conduct performance tuning, troubleshooting, cost management, and automation for cloud systems.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Proficient in cloud technologies (Azure preferred, AWS) and can recommend best practice architectures for on-premises, cloud, or SaaS solutions.
  • Experienced in managing cloud/SaaS tools for builds, deployments, security, capacity, application performance, and support.
  • Strong project management, leadership, strategic thinking, and teamwork skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of security processes, Windows server technologies, and LAN/WAN network technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of conducting independent research/analysis.
  • Technical leader in resolving system issues, developing capacity plans, and managing platform upgrades and maintenance.
  • Available for 24×7 on-call rotation; demonstrates creativity and initiative in problem-solving and identifying improvement opportunities.


  • 7-10 years as a systems engineer/administrator managing enterprise-class systems.
  • 3-5 years of Azure experience in projects, builds, toolsets, management, and technical efficiency.
  • Hands-on knowledge of AWS and Azure services: EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Azure VMs, Azure Storage, Virtual Networks, Azure AD, Azure SQL Database.
  • Expert-level IT infrastructure experience with Microsoft server O/S, VMware, SAN, NAS, security operations, firewalls, middleware, Citrix Virtual Apps/Desktops, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online.
  • Scripting experience with PowerShell, jQuery, JSON; Bash, Python a plus.
  • Preferred certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, AWS Solutions Architect Associate, AWS SysOps Administrator Associate.
  • Hands-on experience with network topologies, TCP/IP, related protocols, and route/switch; firewall experience preferred.


  • Total compensation (base + full bonus potential): $143,650 – $176,800
  • Base salary range: $130,000 – $160,000
