IT Manager

We are currently recruiting a full-time IT Manager for a local area leading provider of data analysis services that serves the Risk Managment Industry. This solution helps first responders and insurers work smarter by providing unbiased, accurate data and information to evaluate risk.


This is a working managerial position focused on leading the infrastructure team in support of customer service, cloud migration, software development, hardware needs, security practices, networking, and any other IT needs. The IT Manager will help shape the vision of the current and future infrastructure.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage a small team that is responsible for our Azure infrastructure and DevOps, physical data center in Seattle (production site), help desk, cloud-based phone system, Azure Active Directory and general user management, software and hardware provisioning, implementation of security measures, and other IT duties in an all-remote workplace – in addition to managing the team, this position will play an active role in day-to-day operations
  • Oversee cross-training, professional development, documentation, and process improvement to ensure we have a well-equipped team that can support one another
  • Work in an Agile environment, with teams using both Kanban and Scrum methodologies to collaborate
  • Work closely with Technology Solutions Director to follow company and department initiatives, set and follow budgets for infrastructure, maintain a cloud roadmap, and enable the team to succeed
  • Meet the DevOps needs of the software development team as they focus on rapid deployment and cloud-first development
  • Work closely with the InfoSec department to ensure we are establishing and following security protocols as needed
  • Help manage IT-related vendor relationships
  • Ensure we have excellent help desk customer service

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Manage all infrastructure staff
  • Monthly 1:1s with staff
  • Provide metrics to staff and leadership
  • Facilitate professional development of infrastructure staff

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Attend regular meetings within the Technology Solutions department
  • Comply with departmental and policies and procedures
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Jira Service Management a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field preferred
  • 2–5 years in IT management or similar
  • 7+ years of IT experience
  • Experience working in an all-remote environment
  • Azure: cloud strategy, infrastructure (including backups and disaster recovery), administration, logging & auditing, usage & billing
  • DevSecOps: scripted automation, configuration management, databases and data storage, security best practices, VPNs, etc.
  • Help desk software and processes, user management, software, and hardware provisioning for a remote workforce
  • Servers (Windows), routers, firewalls, switches, networking
  • Agile methodologies
  • Microsoft InTune
  • Microsoft 365
  • Cloud-based phone systems a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work from home
  • Ability to travel in across the state and to the Seattle area to service or exchange hardware, meet with the infrastructure department, and attend company team-building events
  • Ability to lift heavy packages (50 lbs.)
  • GIS systems experience a plus, but not required
